All of this took place in a world known as Glorantha - a mystical place created by the great (and since last year - the late) Greg Stafford. it was a land full of humans of every shade and race; wild, tempestuous and unruly types who reflected their worship of the Air Gods. Others were strong, reliable and puritanical worshippers of the Sun Gods and the bad guys were the cultured, educated and progressive empire builders who worshipped the Red Moon. There were also strange and wonderous creatures such as the dark and unfathomable race known as Uz (trolls to you and me) who worshipped the Darkness.
Unfortunately, my journey through the world of Glorantha only lasted a few years and then, as so often is the case, life started getting in the way. The games stopped, the books and models were put away in a cupboard and then everything was sold to make room for other things.
I started playing historical wargames for many years before turning, like many gamers do, to that false promise of happiness offered by Games Workshop. But eventually, all of those interests fell away and bit the dust.

However, throughout the years the seed that had been planted in the back of my mind by those early years of Runequest kept returning. Every now and then it burst forth with reminders of adventures in Pavis, those encounters with Baboons that forever made these my favourite Gloranthan race and the Lunar Empire nemesis who, like Javert, haunted every step the adventurers took.
Then in 2019 things changed. A new version of Runequest was published and, like an excited teenager, I treated myself to a copy. And then it hit me - I realised that Glorantha had never let go of me and reading the new book had just reignited all the joy and passion that the second edition had done 40 years earlier.
But who could I share this with? I had no one to game with and so just started following Facebook pages dedicated to the game. It was there that I came across Conejo Kruger ( a blogger known as El Conejo Malo) who wrote about his Raft of Durulz (a race of humanoid ducks - yeah, don't ask!) and their adventures using a game system called Five Leagues from the Borderlands published by Nordic Weasel Games. This is solo-campaign system which he had re-skinned for Glorantha and suddenly I realised that there was a way to pursue my interest once again.
So here begins my journey - a story of a small band of adventurers and their search for glory Five Leagues from Whitewall.
